We’re always excited to meet new people in our office and look forward to introducing you to Delta Orthodontic Group and the many benefits of orthodontic treatment. At your initial visit, one of our team members will give you a brief tour of the office and review all your health history and personal information. You’ll then meet Dr. Higgins who will get to know you and conduct a thorough exam. Dr. Higgins will explain why (or why not) treatment is indicated and the options that are available for treatment.
If treatment is recommended, once the treatment diagnosis and options have been discussed and your related questions answered, our treatment coordinator will explain the financial options related to your treatment. To make your treatment more affordable, we offer a discount for those who choose to pay the complete fee at the start of treatment or a monthly payment plan that can be paid by check or major credit card. We want to be sure that you have all the information you need to make the right decision for you or your child.
If Dr. Higgins recommends treatment and you’d like to take the next step right away, we’ll often be able to take your orthodontic records the very same day to save you a trip. Or if you’d prefer to come back another day for orthodontic records, we’ll schedule that and your final treatment consultation.
Sometimes Dr. Higgins will determine that there’s an advantage to waiting to start treatment. In that case, the patient will be placed in our growth and development program and periodic appointments at no charge for monitoring will be scheduled so you can plan ahead. With Dr. Higgins monitoring your child’s growth, you can be assured that treatment will be started at the optimal time for the best results in the shortest amount of time.
A member of our Delta Orthodontics Group team will let you know how long each appointment will be. The appointment to get your appliances (braces, expanders, Xbow® etc.) usually takes longer than the routine appointments. After your appliances are placed you will then be seen at regular intervals of between 2 to 8 weeks. Longer appointments and emergency or repair appointments are scheduled during school hours when the doctor has extra time to focus on each patient.
